Matt Brooks

Dr. Matt Brooks (he/him) is a Chartered Psychologist and a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. He has research interests and international publications relating to the negative and positive consequences associated with psychological trauma, including posttraumatic growth and resilience. Dr. Brooks is particularly interested in the cumulative impact of multiple adverse events on a range of psychosocial outcomes. Dr. Brooks has conducted research with various criminal justice and victim service organisations on topics ranging from repeat victimisation, service engagement, early intervention in domestic violence, female sexual offending, and support for victims of sexual violence. Alongside his research and teaching, Dr. Brooks has previous clinical and therapeutic experience working with young people in community forensic settings.
