Matthew Hagler
Matthew Hagler is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Francis Marion University, where he is the Director of the Master’s in Clinical/Counseling Psychology Program and the Assistant Director of the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Program. His research examines psychosocial strengths and resilience among youth with marginalized backgrounds and identities. He is especially interested in the formation, processes, and outcomes of youth’s relationships with supportive nonparent adults (i.e., mentors). Dr. Hagler completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston, and his predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and maintains a small psychotherapy practice.
