Shelby Clark is a doctoral candidate and a graduate research and teaching assistant at the School of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a clinician. Shelby currently works on a federally funded, public-private-university, research collaboration evaluating and improving the child welfare system in Kansas under the direction of Dr. Becci Akin. Her areas of scholarly interest include trauma informed care, child welfare, child and family mental health, social work administration and workforce, and contemplative science including the effects of compassion and mindfulness training on well-being.
